Overview: Article 22 of the The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child says: “A child has the right to seek refuge in a safe country, and a child has the right to be given food, medicine and shelter.” In this video we meet Arvin who is from Iran, he is a refugee. FYI’s presenter Archie first meets him in France and then later catches up with him in the UK to discuss his dangerous journey to the UK and to see how he is. Watch the video together, pausing at key points to discuss the different parts of the video and issues it is exploring.

Objectives:
-To develop understanding of one article of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
-To develop this understanding by finding out about the life experiences of another child.
-To consider what can be done to ensure all children have this right.
Age range: Year 5 – Year 9 (Upper KS2 – KS3)
