Overview: Article 38 of The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child says: “Governments must do all they can to protect children from war and conflict.” In this Kidversation, we meet Victoria. Victoria lives in Brazil, in a very dangerous part of Rio de Janeiro where she regularly has to dodge gunshots from criminal gangs. Watch the video together, pausing at key points to discuss the different parts of the video and the issues it is exploring.

Objectives:
-To develop understanding of Article 38 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
-To develop this understanding by finding out about the life experiences of another child.
-To consider what can be done to ensure all children have this right.
Age range: Year 5 – Year 9 (Upper KS2 – KS3)
