Embedding News in School
Benefits of News Reading
Consuming news in school on a weekly basis creates a community of globally aware, news literate young people, with the knowledge and confidence to voice their opinions and the compassion to listen to and respect others.
Although there are more sources of news than ever before, many are heavily biased, unreliable, or more concerned with clicks than being correct. First News is an independently-owned, non-partisan newspaper written especially for children. For more than fifteen years we have been reporting the news to children, listening to their views and campaigning on their behalf.
Use our pages of tips and resources below to find out how you can incorporate First News into your school to get to the bottom of what your pupils think, and help create a community of active, global citizens.
