Space Special Edition

How big is space? How do astronauts eat in space? What are black holes and why are they black? Where’s the best place to look for aliens? Find the answers to these questions and many more in our free special edition on Space. Teaching your KS2 and KS3 students about the solar system this year? Engage your class with all there is to know about space, our free science resource teaches about planets, galaxies, stars, satellites, space exploration and much more. This free resource has been produced in associated with the Science Museum.

We also have an accompanying Key Stage 2 and 3 cross-curricular literacy resource pack to support the Space special edition. Eight activities suitable for Years 5 & 6, 7 & 8 are provided to make it fun and easy to use in the classroom. They encourage children to read and discuss the information in the publication, and provide writing challenges enabling pupils to draw on and develop the knowledge they gain from their reading.

The resource pack can be used to develop a half-term’s food scheme of work, or alternatively be used as structured activities in guided reading sessions. Supports key curricular requirements in literacy, English, DT, PSHE, science and geography.
