Upload the issue PDF to Pocketmags

Upload the PDF

Time needed: 30 mins. Ideally upload as soon as the hi-res PDF is produced by Dan/Rich, usually by 5pm Tuesday, to get it out the way – but you can upload up until midnight Thursday, before the issue goes live at 00:01 Friday morning.

You’ll need:

1. A Pocketmags login – request your own at [email protected] or use the one below in an emergency
   • Username: SSmith
   • Password: uQzptjH3d3J8TGW
2. The hi-res PDF of the new issue – find it in the issue folder on the server at Firstnews > Shared > First News > 02_DESIGN TEAM > DAN > 4. Digital PDFs
3. A short issue description for that week – message Ian Eddy or Marketing to get it

Login at https://portal.magazinecloner.com/login

Click Upload Issue

Check the issue date and number, and scroll down to fill in the Description, Push Date and Push message

Click Create & Continue

Drag and drop the hi res PDF to start the upload

Witness the upload progress

Processing is usually quicker than the estimated time, so sit back down, it’ll be about ten minutes

You’ll also get an email notification when it’s processed, so you don’t forget the next step

Click the red cross, select the cover as the preview page, click Save bottom right

The click Authorise for publication

Click Authorise to confirm

The issue is now uploaded and will go live at 00:01 Friday

How to replace a page

If you need to change a page, you’ll first need to

• Re-edit it in InDesign and save as a new version
• Export a new PDF
• Save it to the issue folder in 3 PDFs Sent
