Inspiring learning through global news
First News International is a weekly, digital newspaper created for children aged 7 to 14. Published every Friday across 52 issues in the year, the newspaper is bursting with stories from around the world, engaging young minds with the world’s biggest news, including science, technology, interviews, debate topics, special reports, sports and much more. Published by First News, the experts in news and news-based resources, First News International grows your pupils’ global awareness, while developing core literacy skills.
There has never been a more important time for young people to feel informed, reassured, and aware of the positive news that happens around the globe. Research shows that 86% of children want to know what is happening in the world but are unsure of where to find this information*. It is our goal to equip children with an enriched knowledge of the world and the fundamental skills they need to succeed throughout school and beyond.

First News engages our pupils
“We have found First News Education to be an excellent addition to the suite of resources that we provide for our pupils here at St Christopher’s School. We have been delighted with the way that it has been received by students who really can’t wait to see what the headlines will be each week. I can say, very enthusiastically, that staff and students at school have absolutely loved having the access to First News and the iHub – it is a fabulous investment and well worth the money.”
Mark Jones, Assistant Headteacher, St Christopher's School, Bahrain
I love First News International
“My pupils love First News, they’re talking a lot more about current affairs and what’s going on around the world – they are constantly asking questions. First News covers all issues and doesn’t shield children, instead they are just careful about how the information is delivered, great addition to the classroom.”
Tom Irvin, Year 4 Teacher, Dulwich Prep London, UK
