Although there are more sources of news than ever before, many are heavily biased, unreliable, or more concerned with clicks than being correct. First News is an independently-owned, non-partisan newspaper written especially for children. For more than fifteen years we have been reporting the news to children, listening to their views and campaigning on their behalf.
First News Education brings together First News and award-winning learning resources to provide schools with a complete solution for effective news-based learning, both in the classroom and for home-learning throughout KS2-3 (P4-S3). It is our goal to equip children with an enriched knowledge of the world and the fundamental reading, writing and oracy skills they need to succeed throughout school and beyond.

Engage Printables are weekly comprehensions, vocabulary puzzles, quizzes and fortnightly debates, based on delving into the week’s news stories in First News.
